THE RISE AND FALL OF THE PURPLE GANG

The Purple Gang, also known as the Sugar House Gang, was an organized crime group made up primarily of Jewish gangsters that engaged in bootlegging and hijacking. During the Prohibition era in the 1920s, they operated in Detroit, Michigan, and eventually became the city's most powerful criminal organization. The 1930s saw the gang completely disintegrate due to excessive violence and internal strife.
