On 6th of January each year men from Kalofer enter in the in the icy waters of Tundzha river to perform the ritual called Men horo dance or All-male horo. The traditional belief is that anyone whom enters the river will be healthy the whole year. Also on this day in many Bulgarian cities men compete for the wooden cross which is thrown in the river by a Priest.
