Can hedgehogs climb trees? - UHD 4K

Описание к видео Can hedgehogs climb trees? - UHD 4K

In the first century, Pliny the Elder in his Historia Naturalis related that hedgehogs would climb apple trees, knock the fruit down, roll upon the apples to impale them on their spines, then carry the fruit off to their burrows. I was filming this rescue hedgehog in a local woodland last autumn when he took it upon himself to try and climb a beech tree. Although he could climb the roots fairly easily the vertical surfaces defeated him and he gave up after two attempts. Filmed in UHD 4K on a Panasonic GH4 camera.
