From daylight to DARKNESS, this is a day in the life of BANAMAN... Not your typical response from police that day. It was deemed a test day in the eyes of the law regarding independent journalism and how far can the police push the boundaries of the law. Public Order Act 2023 section (17) was abused by Derbyshire Constabulary at the Sandpiper hotel in Derbyshire on day 30 of November 2025. Police have to reasonably balance the rights of everybody, but instead of using logic, reasoning and the police intelligence data base, they just appear to make things up as they go along and hope that people will not rebut.

Derbyshire Constabulary aka Derbyshire Police have been caught on camera acting in the same way a private security firm acts at a music event in the open air.

Have the UK police become a security firm for hire by the political elite?

Police Act 1996 section (25); https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/... states that the police are for hire and it uses the words Any PERSON can hire the police for Special Services!

Public Order Act 2023 section (17); https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/... protects journalism and members of the public not taking part in the protest, but police can use reasonable discretion to conclude that a person may or may not be a protester taking part by their actions. On this day, the police failed and broke the law as well as human rights as documented on camera.

Will BANAMAN get an apology from Derbyshire Police?
Well thats the very least they could consider in order to justify their law breaking and breach of human rights!

Did BANAMAN reasonably co-operate with the police?
There are many reasonable questions for topic and debate that can be drawn from this video record of events and the police could also improve their operational tactics for future reference...!

Police failed to use forward intelligence services and observations on the ground to reasonably establish who may or may not have been a protester. This is now a matter for a serious investigation for the IOPC whether they like it or not!

Public Order Act 1986 section (14); https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/... does give the police powers to impose restrictions on protests and gatherings, but it is not a blanket cover to ignore human rights and the law!
