Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com.Today, we're taking a dip in the Chesapeake, from Alexander Pedals. Chorus and vibrato finally get the Alexander treatment, and the effect is in good hands. The Chesapeake combines three classic operation modes: Ensemble, Dimension and Rotary, which hearken back to three distinct units. A color contol changes function depending on mode, while rate, depth, mix and the secondary level control are global. Ensemble mode covers the needs of anyone looking for a vintage syrupy single-voice chorus tone, engineered in the classic variable delay style. Dimension mode works by adding a second chorus voice that sweeps opposite from the first, which defeats some of the movement but thickens a guitar up like you won't believe. Rotary mode combines the chorus with a time-tested sine wave tremolo emulate a Leslie speaker. In this mode, Color adjusts the rotor balance of the Leslie for fine-tuning your virtual cabinet. Turning the mix knob fully clockwise shifts the Chesapeake into a lush pitch vibrato in all modes by eliminating the dry signal. A Tap footswitch ensures that you'll never be out of sync with the band, and holding down the footswitch shifts the tap subdivisions to half, quarter and eighth notes. The Chesapeake features stereo outs with the use of a TRS Y-cable, as well as an external tap tempo jack for remote operation. And like all Alexander pedals, the Chesapeake is made in the USA by good folks doing good things.
