Small batch brewing might be a way for you to find grain and hops that you like. SMaSH beers are another way to find grains, hops and yeasts that you like. This is a grain to glass small batch SMaSH beer. This homebrew is using Maris Otter and Citra then US-05 for the yeast.

Recipe(1.25 gallons in the fermentor) 60min boil
2 LBs 12 oz Maris Otter
.39oz Citra 30mins
.29oz Citra 5mins
.32oz Citra dry hop
3g US-05 yeast
