It is also known as an intracranial aneurysm or a cerebral aneurysm. The bulging aneurysm can put pressure on the nerves or brain tissue. It may also burst or rupture, spilling blood into the surrounding tissue (called a hemorrhage). If a brain aneurysm bursts or ruptures, it is a life-threatening emergency that can result in a stroke, brain damage, and even death if not treated quickly.
