Many Pokemon fans may remember passing by an old man and his Machop working on a construction site in Vermilion City. It's never been stated outright what they're building, and, in the three year period between the events of the first and second generations of games, they had apparently made utterly no progress, as the site in Gold, Silver, and Crystal, as well as their remakes, still just shows an old man and his Machop, flattening the ground for some important construction project. Just what IS this secret project? And why, in three years' time, has it made no forward progress towards its completion? This is one such theory...
