This video captures the beginning of our walk on the Cooloola Great Walk — starting from Tewantin and heading toward Brahminy Walkers Camp.

It was a wet start. Heavy rain, flooding, and changing conditions shaped the day and set the tone early. We walked through coastal forest and wet tracks, reached camp, and spent the night listening to weather move through the landscape.

Not long after, we were contacted by National Parks and advised to turn back. Flooding further along the trail meant continuing safely was no longer possible.

This isn’t a guide or a set of tips — just a record of what it’s like when plans change and you move with what the day allows.

We travelled by:
Car to Great Sandy Information Centre which is the terminal to North Shore Ferries $2 one way
We parked at the adjacent Car Park on Moorindil St, Tewantin QLD.
