Finnich Glen Devil’s Pulpit drone fly through - Outlander Locations

Описание к видео Finnich Glen Devil’s Pulpit drone fly through - Outlander Locations

Finnich Glen known locally as the Devils Pulpit is a truly Magical Place, we visited in 2016 and it was quiet and peaceful and there was a rope down the scary stairs. Three years later and it’s a totally different story, having been used as an Outlander filming location it has got a lot busier and a lot more dangerous with the rope to climb down being removed.
We still got down and got a look and got the drone up which We have been really excited to do for a long time, so we really hope you like this video.

The Glen itself is approximately 70ft down into a red sandstone gorge covered in beautiful bright green moss, due to the sandstone the water is tinged with a copper red tone and adds to the eeery effect, there is a rock inside that the locals call the Devils Pulpit and ancient folklore says that it was used by the druids as a secret meeting place.
You can see why it has become so popular and why it was used for filming Outlander in season 1. It was used by Dougal and Claire, after Claire drank from the water, dougal believed her to be telling the truth as it was effectively made a truth telling stream by the faeries so anyone who drank from it would have to tell the truth. I wouldn’t advise drinking it for real if you visit.
