Описание к видео Yodfat's Heroic Battle: Romans vs. Jews Led by Josephus Flavius

Explore the ancient city of Yodfat, renowned for its heroic and tragic battle during the Great Revolt of the Jews against Roman occupation in 67 CE. Josephus Flavius, appointed governor of Galilee, led the Jewish forces in a courageous stand here. The battle saw the Roman legions, under General Vespasian, claim victory after a fierce struggle that claimed approximately 40,000 lives.

Yodfat was the first Jewish city in Galilee to resist Roman forces, falling after the peaceful surrender of Sepphoris (Tzipori). Its fall marked a turning point as other cities in the region met similar fates. The entire land of Israel fell after seven years of bloody wars, culminating in 73 CE when Masada, the last stronghold located in the Judean Mountains, fell.

Join us as we journey through the ruins of Yodfat, uncovering the stories of bravery and tragedy from the accounts of Josephus, amidst the backdrop of a turbulent era that shaped the fate of ancient Israel.
