RBI MPC Meeting June 2024 Outcome: Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das-headed Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has decided keep the key interest rate or repo rate unchanged for the eighth time in a row. The repo rate currently stands at 6.5 per cent. The committee with a majority of 4:2 decided to keep the rate unchanged.
The repo rate is the rate at which the RBI lends to banks. For the last 16 months, the key lending rate has remained unchanged. Earlier in April, the MPC had kept the repo rate unchanged for the seventh consecutive time.
