SEO vs PPC: What Should You Pursue First & What's the Difference? (Bill King - SEO & PPC at Drift)

What we’re going to talk about today is actually something we talk about a lot in my day job at Directive (https://directiveconsulting.com), but also something I think a lot about when growing my own side projects:

If I have a limited amount of time, do I prioritize organic SEO or do I start with paid ads?

So I asked my buddy Bill King, who runs both #SEO and #PPC at Drift what he thought.

When you’re thinking about whether to pursue SEO or PPC, Bill recommends:

Focus on what will have the biggest impact. If you watched my last #100DaysofSEO video (   • 3 Steps to Growing Your Career in Mar...  ) about trying to work somewhere that has the people and culture that support taking chances and innovation, there are unlimited opportunities and things to try.

Don’t jump in too fast without thinking it through first.

Make sure you have a team around you that trusts you to make this kind of decision. That can’t be overlooked.
