🔥 STEAM meets style — students engineered their own flightwear at the Aerospace Fashion Engineering Camp! #spacefashion

Equity Space Alliance Association (ESAA) is a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) non-profit dedicated to transforming the landscape of the space industry.

‪@FlyComptonFoundation‬ (FCF) is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to building the next generation of Aviators.

This past July, Equity Space Alliance Association (ESAA), partnered with the Fly Compton Foundation, to host the Fly Compton Couture: Aerospace Fashion Engineering Camp — a groundbreaking S.T.E.A.M. program that merged fashion design, aerospace engineering, and technology.

From July 7–11, 2025, at the CSUDH Innovation Incubator, a select group of students ages 11–18 designed and built their own tech-driven flightwear, drawing inspiration from both aviation and space exploration. Using advanced fabrics, sewing machines, coding, microcontrollers, sensors, and motion-reactive LEDs, students transformed creative concepts into wearable aerospace fashion.

Throughout the camp, participants explored the history and future of flightwear, engaged in hands-on engineering and design challenges, and ended the week with a runway-style showcase for family, friends, and community partners.

💡 This camp reflected our mission's to broaden participation in the space, aviation, and innovation economy, proving that when creativity meets engineering, the sky is not the limit.
