Installing emacs-plus and Doom on a Macbook Air M1 using Homebrew

Installing emac-plus and doom emacs using homebrew on an m1 Apple MacBook Air.

GNU Emacs: v29.1
Doom core: v3.0.0-pre grafted, HEAD - master, origin/master, origin/HEAD 24601b30 2023-08-07

ℹ️ Note I:
As of Mid-August 2023, the official Github doom emacs repository states that it only supports emacs over the version range 27.1 - 28.1. It also says that this is for the v2.0.9 release of doom.

ℹ️ Note II:
If you open emacs before installing doom emacs, then emacs will create the .emacs.d config directory in your home directory. This hidden directory needs to be deleted after installing doom emacs for it to be able to load properly as both the emacs and doom config files are now located in the .config directory.

ℹ️ Note III:
This installation procedure does not include running emacs in the background.
