Dali Phantom S Series Speakers - Quick Look India

Today we’re doing a feature roundup of the DALI PHANTOM S series in-wall speakers for a “near-invisible” home theatre setup. The series consists of three models that are the PHANTOM S-80, the S-180 and the S-280 for maximum installation flexibility.

First let's glance through at key design goals of the DALI PHANTOM S series speakers.

All the 3 speakers sport a slim and shallow cabinet as low as 103mm deep for maximum installation flexibility. The MDF cabinets are also sealed for optimum control of the audio reproduction.
All the 3 models integrate 8" woofers in different quantities that leverage DALI’s patented SMC magnet system developed originally for the EPICON series. This delivers full range frequency response even from compact and slim cabinets.
All the 3 models have a hybrid tweeter module that features a soft dome and a planar ribbon tweeter combined to deliver added clarity and ultra-wide dispersion. The module can also be rotated enabling both vertical and horizontal mounting. This makes them easy to install for any audio use: be it stereo, centre channel, and surround speakers, as required.

Now let’s look at the individual models.

Starting with the flagship of the S series, the PHANTOM S-280 is a powerful in-wall speaker with two 8" mid-bass drivers, two additional 10" passive radiators and a rotatable hybrid tweeter module. The speaker delivers clean room-filling sound, making it ideal for the front left-right channel speaker, especially in large room setups.

Next up is the PHANTOM S-180 in-wall speaker that integrates a single 8" mid-bass driver, a single 10" passive radiator and a rotatable hybrid tweeter module. The S-180 can be used as front channel speakers in small to medium rooms or as a surround speaker in larger room setups.

Lastly, there is the PHANTOM S-80, a compact in-wall speaker integrating a single 8" mid-bass driver and a rotatable hybrid tweeter module. This versatile model can be used as front channel speakers in small rooms or as a surround speaker in medium or larger room setups. DALI also provides magnetic front grilles that deliver a non-intrusive, attractive and an “almost invisible” surround sound setup.

All in all, the DALI PHANTOM S series enables you to get the experience of true high-end Hi-Fi or home cinema, without giving up precious floor space.
