Of all these years I've had pond skaters in my many ponds it the first time a large pond skater has landed in one! They are much larger that your common garden skater (Gerris lacustris). Being larger they also tend to bully the smaller ones! You never know what might land in your pond and that adds to the enjoyment of having a pond in your garden. It is not just what you put in, it is also what nature puts in!
