When I first found this song I wanted to save it for an eventual Banana Fish AMV, but after watching Beastars it just felt way too perfect. The upbeat but actually pretty dark vibes the songs gives is a perfect match for Beastars and I don't even have to mention how well the lyrics fit.

I really liked the way the anime itself used panels and I wanted to enforce that. The panels along with some handdrawings gave me enough energy to keep up with the fast paced song even where the scenes alone felt short. I paired this all up with a paint-ish theme.
And then in the second half, well, let's just say that I intentionally went against things I believe are right, just to force myself into doing something differently.

Huge thanks go to Spike, Cipisek, Kenji and of course the rest of Dreambox for helping me and keeping me motivated to actually finish this amv.
And the hugest thanks go to Lampi for keeping me alive through all of this, for helping me in all stages of the amv and for making my awesome poster.

Personal ramble:
This project took me 3 months which is way more than it should have. This is not an amv that should have taken so long. I got incredibly angry at myself and the amv aswell. I keep doing things the same way every time and I still believe I have not really learnt much in past like 3 years. I just always apply things I know to different sources. The only things I've experimented with are some small fx which are more of an eye candy rather than useful element of the amv. Because of this every project I ever make has that breaking point where I really start hating the amv because it's not really better than things I've done in the past. As someone who is heavily focused on improvement this makes me really mad. I hate that I'm not capable of bringing myself into making something I'd be really proud of, I just keep on doing things I already know how to do. Well I hope to break this with the next full amv, but I've tried it many times before being extremely motivated and then just falling back into the same old tracks. I want to make an amv I really have to tryhard for, something I've not done since my first penguindrum amv. Something where I have to apply different rules than here.
