Ep 414 | Stitch Fest, Somerset Adventures & Narrowboat Progress | Weekly Vlog | 7th November (2025)
It’s been a week filled with creativity, travel, and a few little adventures. From soaking up the inspiration at Stitch Fest to visiting the Burnham-on-Sea Carnival, exploring beautiful Wells Cathedral, and seeing exciting progress on our narrowboat build — it’s been such a lovely mix. Add in some cosy baking, volunteering, and a few quiet moments by the river, and this week has felt perfectly balanced.
Stitch Fest Adventures | Daily Vlog | Sat 1st November (2025)
I caught the train to Stitch Fest at Newton Abbot Racecourse — and absolutely loved it! I promised myself I wouldn’t buy any more craft supplies (famous last words!), so I focused on finding inspiration instead — and found plenty. I met Vanessa from Magpie and Butterfly in Marazion, Cornwall, and now I’m dreaming of joining one of her workshops one day. I also chatted with a lady who runs a Dye Your Own Wool course — fascinating stuff — and discovered a monthly knitting meet-up nearby. It was such a creative and welcoming atmosphere; I left feeling inspired and full of ideas.
A Sunny Stroll & Baking Bliss | Daily Vlog | Sun 2nd November (2025)
The river looked stunning in the sunshine, so I took a gentle stroll before heading home to bake a carrot and coconut cake — it turned out delicious. I spent the rest of the day pottering about and waiting for the plumber to come and check a small leak.
Burnham Carnival Magic | Daily Vlog | Mon 3rd November (2025)
We travelled to Burnham-on-Sea for the famous carnival — and what a spectacular event it was! It was my first time seeing it, and I was blown away by the floats, lights, and music. We stayed overnight in a caravan, caught up with my brother and his family, and, as a lovely surprise, bumped into Heather and Julia, who watch our videos — it was so lovely to meet them in person.
Exploring Wells Cathedral & Its Medieval Clock | Daily Vlog | Tues 4th November (2025)
We spent the day in Wells, wandering through the beautiful cathedral. I met a knowledgeable guide who shared fascinating insights about the building’s history. The highlight for me was the medieval clock — the second-oldest working clock in the world, dating back to 1390, featuring a 24-hour face and a moon phase display. Absolutely mesmerising.
Back to Totnes | Daily Vlog | Wed 5th November (2025)
After a peaceful morning stroll along the Burnham-on-Sea seafront, we began our journey back to Totnes. It felt great to return home after being away for a few days.
Work Day & Narrowboat Build Update | Daily Vlog | Thurs 6th November (2025)
It was a workday for both of us, but the highlight was receiving an update on our narrowboat build. There’s been so much progress — it’s really starting to take shape now, and every stage brings us a step closer to our dream. So exciting!
Rainy Morning Walk & Market Finds | Daily Vlog | Fri 7th November (2025)
I started the day with an early walk in the pouring rain, followed by a volunteer shift at the charity shop. Afterwards, I pottered around the flat, did some work, and picked up groceries for dinner. I couldn’t resist buying Glenn’s favourite sourdough cheese bread from the market — the perfect Friday treat.
