A combination of her culture and love for volunteering has motivated her to talk about how passion has driven her to success. This talk is mainly influenced by her organization called the Jageshwar Foundation, which focuses on disaster recovery in Nepal. Suhani Pandey was born in Kathmandu, Nepal, and moved to the United States when she was four. At an early age, she grew up in Wisconsin and had a bright interest in academics and getting involved in different activities. These traits followed her through high school, where she had immense success on the Forensics team and DECA, holding officer positions as President of SkillsUSA and Historian of the National Honor Society. Pandey’s triumphant involvement continues outside of school. She is the co-founder of the Jageshwar Dham of Nepal, has earned her 2nd-degree black belt, is a martial arts instructor, a student trustee on the Sun Prairie Public Library Board, and is a language teacher for the Nepali American Friendship Association in the Madison area. Her leadership, public speaking, and teaching efforts have tremendously impacted her peers and community. She continues this as she pursues her undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
