To diverge from my typical sit-down Q&A’s with the guests on my Long Gray Lessons podcast, I have decided to follow my most recent guest throughout his element to learn more about him and what he does (think Vogue – 73 Questions).

Today’s guest is a good friend and mentor, Danny Gold Hwang. Danny graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with honors in 2006. He is a combat-decorated veteran and former U.S. Army Ranger with 6 years on Active Duty. Shortly after transitioning out of the military in 2012, he co-founded New Pathway Education (acquired by CVC Capital Partners and merged with EIC Education in 2014), a successful education technology company in Shanghai, China with his older brother, Sam, to mentor students who were looking to apply for universities abroad.

Danny currently serves as the Founder and CEO of Point Avenue, an education technology company based in Hanoi, Vietnam to provide premier education services for Kindergarten – 12th-grade students in Southeast Asia. What’s unique about Point Avenue is that they focus on the holistic development of the student with an emphasis on academic prep, physical fitness, life skills, ethics, mental toughness, and developing leaders of character.

Danny’s goals and ambitions as an Entrepreneur, Investor, Company Builder, and Educator are inspired by his experiences at the United States Military Academy and in the U.S. Army.
