The Typewriter Revolution

Some Reflections upon Richard Polt's recent book, "The Typewriter Revolution - A Typist's Companion for the 21st Century" which focus in particular on key moments outlined in "The Typewriter Manifesto" the themes uniting those moments resolve in the tension between analogue and digital technologies, looking to the Typewriter as a machine which can perhaps mediate those tensions. After a brief sketch of how these ideas find reflection in the book, I add some thoughts on employing the rubric set forth in Martin Heidegger's "The Question Concerning Technology" for perhaps understanding more specifically why the typewriter is so apt for such mediation.
