Assamese Janmastami Bhog 1/4 “Kesa Mithoi”

Kesa mithoi is a traditional Assamese sweet made from rice flour, jaggery or powdered sugar and raw milk. A simple no cook sweet treat often prepared during special occasions like Janmastami, Bhado Maahor Naamor Horai etc. Some people add grated coconut to taste better.

Ingredients:
Rice flour
Ghee
Sugar
Cardamom
Milk

Procedure:

1. Wash the rice and soak min 45min, here I have used Joha rice ( Scented Rice). After 45min dry it and grind it.

2. Sugar and cardamom grind together. Add sugar according to your taste.

3. Add ghee and mix all together. Slowly add milk little by little and knead it into a soft pliable dough. Once the dough is ready, take a small portion of it, roll them into small round balls.
