Note: The procedure is also suitable within certain limits for other 2-valve engines except the 800 Scramblers, but not for engines with 4 valves. Also good to know: The frequency values that must be adhered to in order to tension the timing belts vary from year to year and possibly from model to model. Used belts that are reinstalled also require lower values than newly installed ones. Which apply to your own bike, you need to find out by yourself.

UPDATES
The mentioned frequency values seem not be valid (any more?). As @Artem Peshkov mentioned in a comment, the recommended settings could be inaccurate. They once had been officially communicated, and I apologize for not staying up to date, but probably had been changed, or were never correct. The 145 Hz for the horizontal cylinder could be confirmed again, but it seems that many mechanics also use this number for the vertical one. To make sure I recommend not to rely on the frequency numbers for the Scrambler FT 2016 stated in the video and do some research before working on the belts. Contact your dealer or Ducati, please. Those of you, who already finished the work with the settings mentioned: Recheck the tension and correct, if necessary! As Artem also mentioned, the tensioners can break!

The mentioned app 'Carbon Drive' by Gates seems to have gotten an update, that left the app not working correctly on certain smartphones. You might want to consider this before getting the creeps ... ;-)

During a regular Ducati Desmo service at an authorized workshop, the tension pulleys are also replaced when the timing belt is changed. This step was omitted here.
