There’s a warning in the Bible that most people ignore… and by the time they realize it, it might be too late. Jesus spoke about it. Paul warned the churches. The prophets cried out, but their voices were drowned in the noise of everyday life. And here’s the question—are we any different today?

The signs are everywhere, yet so many turn a blind eye. Some think faith is just about attending church, singing a few songs, and reciting prayers. But what if I told you that’s not enough? What if you’re trusting in something that won’t hold up when the time comes?

What does it really mean to be prepared? What did Jesus warn us about that most Christians seem to forget? Stay with me until the end, because these ten biblical lessons might just change everything.



The Warning from Jesus That Many Ignore.
In Matthew 24, Jesus gave a warning—one that most people skim past without a second thought. He spoke of wars, deception, and a world growing colder by the day. Yet, here we are… seeing His words unfold in real-time, and still, so many live as if none of it matters. Why? Because it’s easy to ignore what makes us uncomfortable. It’s easy to say, “That’s for another time,” while life pulls us in a thousand directions. But let me ask you something—what if “another time” never comes?

Think about Noah. He spent years building the ark, warning people of the flood to come. But they laughed. They kept living as if nothing would change—until the rain started falling. By then, it was too late. The doors had closed. And Jesus Himself compared the last days to the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37-39). That’s not just a historical reference—it’s a wake-up call. Are we paying attention?

Now, some might say, “But I go to church. I read my Bible. I pray sometimes.” And that’s great. But let’s be honest—are we truly watching and preparing, or are we just going through the motions? Because there’s a difference. Jesus said, “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming” (Matthew 24:42). Watching isn’t passive. It’s not just acknowledging the signs—it’s acting on them.

Let me put it this way—if you knew a storm was coming, you wouldn’t wait until the thunder rolled in to prepare, right? You’d make sure you had shelter, food, supplies. But when it comes to the greatest event in human history—the return of Christ—how many are truly preparing? How many are investing in their spiritual foundation with the same urgency as they do their career, finances, or physical health?

And that’s the real issue. The distractions of this world make people forget what really matters. Money, success, security—none of it will matter when that day comes. It’s not wrong to pursue financial growth, to invest, to build a life of abundance. But if God isn’t first, if we aren’t seeking a true connection with the Holy Spirit, then what good is all the wealth in the world? Jesus asked, “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet lose his soul?” (Mark 8:36).

So here’s the question—are you truly ready? Are you actively preparing, or just assuming you’ll figure it out later? The time for passive faith is over. It’s time to wake up, to take this warning seriously, and to move with purpose. The clock is ticking, and one thing is certain… one day, the door will close.
