Celebrating Summer Solstice: Wild Swimming under the Midnight Sun

First wild swimming trip of the season! Summer is here with hot temperatures and blue skies. Time to go Skinny Dipping in wild lakes. So on Summer Solstice we head out to a small lake somewhere in the northern Yukon. Kato takes his first steps ever into a northern lake before the rest of us go skinny dipping in the refreshing waters. Afterwards we take some time to relax in the sun, enjoy the pristine wilderness around us and play with the little one. As evening comes we gather around a campfire with some friends, listen to music and stay up until the golden rays of the sun kiss the waters of the Yukon River once more.

With the warm wind in our hair and a chocolate ice cream in our hands we take the jeep to head deep into the wilderness of the Yukon Territory. We find the lake were we took our baby boy camping for the first time in his life two years ago.

Kato has no fear of the water and enjoys splashing around in the shallows of the lake. Then it is time for Sophie to plunge into the Chrystal clear lake for a refreshing swim.

We also discuss that cloths should be optional and simply enjoy that winter is far gone now. In the evening it is time to celebrate the summer solstice. Together with a group of our friends we have a little solstice ritual that we do along the Yukon River...
