Footage from the second Category 4/5 field of the Harlem Skyscraper Cycling Classic around Marcus Garvey Park on June 16th, 2024. This was my second race of the day - after getting crashed into during the first race (no injuries to me or bike damage), this second race went much better. I placed 6th out of 60 starters; only 29 racers finished.

-- Personal Comments --
Still pretty fresh after an annoying end to the first race, and at least I was more familiar with the course. I unclipped at one point on the north straight, whoops. There was a solo break for most of the race (I helped pull at 22:55 to chase him), but when we caught him around lap 15, another guy broke away by himself and managed to stay away long enough to win the race.

Ben (from Bucknell) ended up leaping to the front of the pack on the last lap and driving the pace hard enough to form a gap after corner 2 (28:05). Someone else closed the gap for me, and I held on until the final straight where I sprinted for 15 seconds. Pretty decent positioning for most of the race, except for that last lap where I was really lucky to get a "leadout".

Overall, a nice end to a 3-race weekend - got 10 (6 + 4) upgrade points in two days as a Cat 4!
