Protests erupted in Cameroon after 92-year-old President Paul Biya, the world's oldest serving ruler, secured an eighth term in office on Monday.
 
 "We want our president, Issa Tchiroma, to come and fix the country. We have suffered enough," a protester said.
 
"Honestly, we're all tired of Biya. We're here, making all this noise just because of him. He's been in power too long — we're tired of him, we're tired as a family. We're exhausted. We need to bring in change," another protester said.
 
Biya, 92, won 53.66 per cent of the vote, against 35.19 per cent for his former ally, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, the Constitutional Council said. A new seven-year term could keep Biya in power until he is nearly 100.
