"Tsuchi ningyo", meaning "Clay Dolls", was composed by Tadao Sawai in 1972. Drawing inspiration from Okoshi Clay Dolls made in the composer’s hometown, Bisai (now Ichinomiya) of Aichi Prefecture, this duet piece expresses the rich colors painted on the rustic clay dolls.
