"Pitter patter, pitter patter. What’s that tickle on your scalp? Probably the playful pokes of a Downpour! Being a hovering monster, these nimbus ne’er do wells are fully equipped to be expert pranksters, with their classic “bucket on a door” trick being their favorite. Of course, this doesn’t work underwater (where the monster will usually spend a surprising amount of time), so they’ll figure out other pranks to pull when they’re breaching the depths. Beyond that though, these cumulus comrades are a very social species, preferring to remain in large groups known as Drenches, moving as one unit to conserve energy. Of course, they also value time alone, especially if they might be a bit out of practice playing their “waterphone”, a name they seem insistent on keeping for their hemispheric instruments despite the misleading nature of such a name. That’s just more trickery from the storm cloud that won’t get flickery. Indeed, Downpours, unlike some other cloud-based monsters, will never grow stormy, literally and metaphorically. Its typically short proximity to large bodies of water would make constant involuntary lighting strikes a major problem, thus they’ve learned to suppress such activity to a few controlled sparks every now and again when they need to let off steam. As for the metaphorical sense, Downpours have long trained themselves not to feel any sort of negativity, always keeping a positive charge, often manifesting so strongly that most other monsters around a Downpour will smile from ear to… erm… You get the point. It is for this reason that Downpour is often referred to as “Swag of the Sky”, which a local Theremind has explained as meaning something good. While many claim that they descend from the stars at night to steal the food and possessions of those below, the truth is far from that. The real reason for their astral outings are so they can see their home up in space from a different view. Sometimes, a little change of perspective can adjust your whole outlook on something.”
“It cant truly be put into words how odd of a specimen the WyrmIsh is, because they truly are quite perplexing. Their eye alone can see many different spectrums of light that a normal monster normally couldnt, and it seems this same eye is where the monsters, err.. "Brain" is, or rather where its knowledge is stored. Their body, despite not seeming so, is also incredibly long, theyre just in the ground almost always so you only really get to see a small portion of it, as the entire body length alone can stretch from one half of an island fo the other. They truly are an anomalous species, but they dont really take any time to think about it themselves, because this is just their normal everyday life.”
