Between Heaven and Earth - Fire Emblem: Three Houses (solo piano arrangement)

ok i'm probably ruining my youtube algorithm by uploading two consecutive days lol but I DON'T CARE BECAUSE YAY FINALLY my Fire Emblem: Three Houses piano album is on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and Deezer!!! 14 tracks all from FE3H all arranged and played and recorded by me, and of course you can listen to them all here on my channel, and here is the final track on the album to be uploaded, Between Heaven and Earth.

As with many of the tracks on the album, this arrangement was also a character profile, this time of Edelgard. I'm not the biggest Edelgard fan but I don't hate her either; i just felt sorry for her that she was so driven by desperation and haunted a traumatic past to see warmongering as her only solution. That's honestly how this theme has always struck me--a blind, unyielding determination, lofty ideals, emotions just under the surface but held in check. I approached this theme with a Chopinesque vibe in mind, particularly the Revolutionary etude with the unrelenting LH arpeggios and a bit of Rachmaninoff's Moment Musical #4, because Edelgard strikes me as having a very straightforward sort of virtuosity. Though there were a few places in the original that were SUPER heavily referencing Pet Shop Boys (like the rhythm of the low toms at the end was exactly the same as the electric guitar in Heart) and after I realized that, I couldn't unhear it so yeah, Pet Shop Boys ending lol. Edie's also a fan of 90s British new wave synthpop. That's my headcanon lmao.

Anyways, thank you all so much again for supporting me on this project for the past four months! It really means so much to me!! And as I've said before, I'm not quite done with FE3H yet, A Funeral of Flowers will be recorded after Magfest, then working on a bunch of fun collabs like Apex of the World. As for solo work though, it'll be back to Final Fantasy Tactics and Castlevania and hoping to rework some Legend of Mana as well. Thank you all for sticking around, and I hope you enjoy the album!
