XRP previously known as Ripple (XRP):
The blockchain that powers the cryptocurrency XRP was created by Jed McCaleb, Arthur Britto, and David Schwartz. Later, McCaleb and Britto founded Ripple, which uses XRP to speed up network transactions. XRP can be purchased as an investment, a cryptocurrency to trade for other cryptocurrencies, or a means of funding Ripple network transactions.

Remarkably, XRP's blockchain functions quite differently from the majority of other cryptocurrencies. Some cryptocurrencies allow anyone with fast math skills to access their transaction ledgers and verification procedures. However, transactions are safe since adding them to the ledger requires the approval of the verification from the majority of ledger holders.

The Ripple network of XRP has a consensus protocol and moderate centralization: Its validation program is available to everybody, but users can choose from distinct node lists it maintains to validate their transactions by choosing the participants they believe are least likely to scam them.

Every three to five seconds, the validators update their ledgers with new transactions to ensure they match the other ledgers. When there is a discrepancy, they pause to determine the cause. This offers the network an advantage over other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin by enabling the secure and effective validation of transactions.
