In 1988, Roland released this incredible, little keyboard that helped to popularize many "Roland-esque" sounds like the shakuhachi, the bell, guitar-samples with distortion, and the typical Roland piano-sound, which can be found in later Roland models like the Roland JV-1080.

This month we'll be covering 5 epic Roland synths from the eighties, the Roland U-20 RS-PCM keyboard, the Roland D-50 Linear Arithmetic or LA synthesizer, the JX-3P Analog synthesizer, the sister synth of the beloved Juno 106, the JD-800, possibly the greatest digital synth of all time, and finally the JP-8000, the most controversial virtual analog synth infamous for introducing the world to the supersaw sound! Every Wednesday at 9 pm est🎹

I love romplers! A rompler is the somewhat bizarre name for a keyboard that uses samples of instruments instead of traditional synthesis, although some, like the Korg M1, have that too.
