They provide a secure, solid, long-lasting hold to both posts without notching. The diagonal brace plate installs quickly and easily with only a hammer and eight 2.5" screws. The brace plate holds the brace post securely to the end post so that the end or corner post does not start to tilt over time from being tensioned.

Sometimes with corner posts (when two brace posts are connected), you may need to use a common hole with two diagonal brace plates. It allows for easier and quicker installation and better for pressure-treated posts.
