How to Give a Great Pep Talk – Backed by Research
Mind Bite Thursday – your weekly dose of the human edge in technology
With all the uncertainty, doubt, worry, and financial stress right now, if you’re a leader, maybe your team could do with a little uplifting, some contact and connection from you?
And maybe a Pep Talk?
When I was still playing competitive squash, our club had entered us into the regional playoffs for a national competition
On paper, our team had little chance of doing well
However, we had a secret weapon
We had a coach and a leader, someone who got the importance of connecting with us as a team and understanding what motivated us, individually and collectively
Against all odds, we won the regional playoffs
It was an amazing first exposure, for me, to the incredible power of a great leader, coach and motivator. He inspired us to the next level
So, is it time to give your team a pep talk? Even remotely?
Of course, the challenge for most of us, is pep talks don't come naturally
To help with you with that here's a framework to make your next pep talk easy and straight-forward
