Udaipur Police's big action: Accused of raping 8-year-old minor arrested within 12 hours

Udaipur, 11 August 2025 — Udaipur Police took immediate action and arrested the accused Ramlal son Duda Gameti, resident of Mandesar police station Dabok, within 12 hours in the case of raping an 8-year-old minor girl. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Circle Officer Vallabhnagar and Police Station Officer Dabok reached the spot and the victim was taken to MBGH Hospital along with her mother for treatment.

After the victim's health improved, a medical examination was conducted and on the basis of the preliminary report, the police registered a case. In view of the seriousness of the incident, District Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal formed a special team and started searching for the accused. During the search and interrogation that went on all night, the accused confessed to the crime.

Tension and stone pelting in the village

During the arrest of the accused, a large number of people gathered in the victim's village and surrounding areas. Some anti-social elements present in the crowd spread the rumour that the victim had died in the hospital, which worsened the situation. After this, the crowd pelted stones at the Dabok police station, in which seven government vehicles were damaged and many policemen and police personnel were injured.

The police controlled the situation and detained a total of 39 people and seized 13 motorcycles. A separate case has been registered in the matter of stone pelting and damage to government property.

The police clarified that all evidence is being collected to ensure that the accused gets the harshest punishment under the law and the case will be heard in a fast track court.
