I love my video game collection. I've spent many years and dollars curating a collection of physical based media that is unique to my tastes and pays homage to the nostalgia of my childhood. I love video games and video game culture so much that it is important to me to preserve this history of games, as this era is quickly being replaced by the digital distribution future. At the same time, the physical part of video games is fading from memory at an accelerated rate - cover art, game manuals, game boxes, console boxes, magazines, cartridges, optical discs are all endangered species in an all digital future.

What's concerning is the lack of preservation measures to archive and keep the memories of this era alive. So I do what I can within my collection to not only preserve them for future generations to look at but for my personal use, and to maybe increase the price of my games as time marches on.
