ADF | Royal Australian Navy Initial Training

Sailors undertake their initial training at HMAS Cerberus in Victoria, before moving on to their job-specific training.

At Cerberus you will be supported and encouraged to become the best version of yourself.

The aim of the training is to take the strengths and qualities you already possess and build on them, while setting you up for a positive career in the Navy as a representative and defender of Australia's security and prosperity.
Throughout the course you will experience a blend of physical training, practical exercises and classroom learning. The staff are all active-duty members who have real life experience and a people first attitude.

Your whole individual will be supported as you grow in yourself and prepare for a role on an Australian warship.
