Binary Addition and Subtraction:

All digital circuits work in a binary number system and therefore all the arithmetic operations are also performed in the binary.

Rules for Binary Addition
0 + 0 = 0
0 + 1 = 1
1 + 0 = 1
1 + 1 = 0 (with 1 carry)

Rules for Binary Subtraction:
0 - 0 = 0
1- 0 = 1
1- 1 = 0
0 -1 = 1 (with 1 borrow)
