Allan Trimble’s name is forever etched into Oklahoma sports history. Over 22 remarkable seasons, he led the Jenks Trojans to more high school football state championships than any coach in state history. A Cleveland High School graduate and Northeastern State alumnus, Trimble began his coaching career at Owasso in 1987 before joining Jenks as an assistant in 1990. By 1996, he was head coach, launching one of the most dominant runs in Oklahoma athletics. His teams claimed six straight Class 6A titles in his first six years and made 17 state finals appearances overall, compiling a stunning 242–41 record.

Trimble’s story is one of leadership, faith, and perseverance. Beyond the wins, he cultivated a program built on discipline, unity, and character—qualities that defined his players long after they left the field. His deep faith guided him through his 2016 diagnosis with ALS, which he faced with courage and grace, inspiring countless Oklahomans. In this interview, recorded in 2018 by Don King for Cox Communications and released publicly for the first time on Voices of Oklahoma, Trimble reflects on his coaching journey, his proudest moments, and how his faith gave him strength in the face of life’s greatest challenge.

Allan Trimble passed away on December 1, 2019, at the age of 56, leaving behind a legacy that continues to shape Jenks football and the lives of those he mentored. In 2017, the school’s stadium was renamed Allan Trimble Stadium, a lasting tribute to the man whose leadership turned a program into a dynasty and whose faith turned adversity into inspiration.
