Shane Dawson Hates His Selfie

Shane Dawson is a social media star who made his mark with a series of funny YouTube videos.

"I was a fat kid. I was like 400 lbs. I lost a couple hundred... I ate less and exercised. I started making videos and tracking my progress and it lead to sketch comedy. Now, I'm taking way too many selfies and hating all of them," said Dawson.

The 26-year-old is also an author, too. He's written the book, "I Hate My Selfies."

"The introduction was the hardest. How do you start a book? How do you say this is my life story without sounding so pretentious," said Dawson.

As for how to look better in selfies, Dawson says there are tricks.

"I try to make myself look worse because it sets the bar low. So when you meet me in person you're like wow. But there are tricks: putting your tongue against the roof of your mouth or putting the camera way up here," said Dawson.
