Описание к видео Charlotte-area bars donate proceeds from Sycamore Brewing after co-owner's arrest

Bars and restaurants across the Carolinas are donating proceeds from Sycamore Brewing products to nonprofits supporting sexual assault survivors following the arrest of the brewery's now-former co-owner on child rape charges.

Justin Brigham, 44, faces charges including rape of a child and indecent liberties with a child. He's being held under an $11 million bond in Stanly County. Sycamore Brewing announced that Brigham is no longer with the company, but the arrest has prompted businesses throughout the region to reevaluate their relationships with the brewery.

Rather than immediately pulling Sycamore products from their shelves, dozens of establishments announced on social media they would donate all proceeds from sales this week to organizations supporting abuse survivors.

Carley Englander with East Frank Superette and Kitchen in Monroe said the decision was immediate.

"It was a no-brainer that we could not whatsoever take profit from something that had such a horrible connotation," Englander said. "Instead of taking the profits from the beer, we definitely wanted to give back." #News
