The National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, Yusuf Dabo Dantalle, has accused governors of appointing their loyalists as local government chairmen under the guise of elections.

He has therefore appealed to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state to take the initiative and support the abolition of State Electoral Commissions.

Dantalle stated these during a seminar to celebrate twenty-five years of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria and the achievements of the Fintiri administration over the past five years.
