We kicked off our thrilling Yerushalayim Shabbaton on Thursday with a picturesque lookout point in Sderot offering a breathtaking view of Gaza. Our next stop was Chabad of Sderot, where we enjoyed delicious pizza and were deeply moved by the inspiring stories shared by Shliach Rabbi Pizem. The journey continued at the Sderot Municipality Center, where we were captivated by a powerful video recounting the Hamas attack in Sderot on Simchas Torah.
We then ventured into a hauntingly surreal car cemetery near Tekumah. After the massacre at the Nova Festival, hundreds of burnt and damaged cars were left scattered along the sides of the road. The vehicles of the Nova victims were brought there and stand as silent witnesses to history. The climax of the day was our visit to the Nova festival massacre site itself, where we gathered in a poignant moment of unity, singing "Ani Ma'amin" with heartfelt emotion and davening fervently for the release of the hostages which are still being held in Gaza ten painful months after October 7th.
