Today, we have an extraordinary guest, Captain Mark Fundoh, a true embodiment of the American Dream. Originally from Cameroon, West Africa, Mark immigrated to the United States 19 years ago as a student. He has been a Liberty Tax Franchisee for 4 years.

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Dallas Baptist University, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, and a distinguished career as a Captain in the U.S. Army, Mark's journey is nothing short of inspirational. Join us as we delve into his remarkable story of resilience, overcoming discrimination, and carving a path to success as a black franchise owner in the competitive world of the tax businesses.

Mark's journey to entrepreneurship began with adversity. Despite his impressive academic credentials, he faced challenges finding work as a student in the United States. Fueled by determination and the desire to create opportunities for himself, Mark made the bold decision to venture into entrepreneurship. Little did he know, this decision would change the course of his life.

Mark's path was not without obstacles. As an immigrant, he encountered discrimination and faced numerous challenges along the way. However, with unwavering perseverance and a commitment to his vision, Mark overcame every hurdle that came his way. His story serves as a testament to the power of resilience and hard work in the face of adversity. He credits his extended family for supporting his work life balance while him and his wife raise their 2 year old daughter.

Beyond his entrepreneurial endeavors, Mark plans to apply to Harvard University to pursue his PHD and grow his business and expand to additional Liberty Tax offices in the Dallas area.
