Grafting Apple Trees Onto Root Stock

Grafting apple trees is a ton of fun and just another form of plant propagation! It's pretty simple to do and the grafts take relatively easily. You'll need a few supplies such as a good root stock, grafting knife, grafting tape, rubber bands, and of course apple scions from your favorite apple tree variety, in my case I'm using Honeycrisp apple scions.

Grafting your own fruit trees is great and the grafting process is simple but does take some know how and an understanding of the process such as time of year and how to treat the apple scions. With a little patience, you can create your own apple trees!
