Editor Curtiss Clayton discusses his work with director Andrew Dominik on "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford." From Manhattan Edit Workshop's "Critical Ends" series, featuring award winning editors discussing their craft as a part of our Six Week Editing Intensive.

Clayton, who graduated from USC’s film school, grew up far from Hollywood. Originally interested in acting––he spent a year taking classes before being accepted at USC––Clayton grew to love the cinema of the 1970s while working in a local Oklahoma movie house. The power of cinema to reach and move the emotions of someone growing up in small-town America became a refrain in his take on the current state of film production. Clayton is known for "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," "Buffalo '66," and "To Die For."
