The insta360 Ace Pro Review. It’s finally a sunny day here in Montana, so I headed down to the river to finish this video and give the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 a real-world test. I wanted to see how it handles decent daylight, partly cloudy skies, and then later push it into low-light during a local holiday event filled with lights and movement. This isn’t a lab test — it’s about how this camera actually performs when you’re out living your life.

When I use an action camera, I don’t want to think about it. I want it to be a quiet companion, not a distraction. For most of this video, everything is set to automatic with MegaView and the standard color profile. Most people buying action cameras aren’t pros, and I’m not either. I want good results without spending hours in post.

The Ace Pro 2 may still be 8-bit, but it offers iLog for light color grading, Leica LUTs, and strong straight-out-of-camera results. You get up to 8K30, 4K120, excellent stabilization, Free Frame filming for vertical or horizontal reframing, and impressive low-light performance with PureVideo.

After being skeptical of the original Ace Pro, I can honestly say this feels like a true upgrade. It’s easy to use, reliable, and produces great video and photos — which is why it’s the camera I’m grabbing for most of my adventures.

or exposure problems that I had with the previous Insta360 Ace Pro model
Log Format (iLog): Record in Insta360’s log format for color grading.
Video Specifications: Record in 8K up to 30 frames per second (fps) or 4K at 120 fps.
Stabilization: Excellent automatic stabilization with low, standard, and high modes. Standard stabilization is great
I haven't had any problems or micro jitters.
Free Frame Mode: Similar to "open gate," this mode makes it easy to switch between vertical and horizontal perspectives in post-production.
Zoom: Features a 2x zoom that shows how much closer you can get to a subject.
Leica Lens & Build: The lens is made by Leica, an award-winning lens company that's been around forever. It has a standard field of view
of about 157 degrees and an aperture of 2.6. It can capture photographs in 50 megapixels.
Flip-up Screen: The flip-up LCD screen is a helpful feature for vlogging, B-roll, and checking framing when filming at different angles.
