Fried Oyster Mushrooms

An easy recipe for fried oyster mushrooms. This is not a vegan recipe, but can easily become one by omitting the milk and using almond milk or an easy vegan buttermilk.

The Fried oyster mushroom are really meaty and are very similar to fried chicken.
Also, they have a look and feel of fried oysters. Use a dipping sauce of your preference.
We used 1 lb of oyster mushrooms, the ingredients should change if you use less. cut the ingredients in half for a smaller portion.

Recipe:
Ingredients:
for the wet mix:
1 cup- all purpose flout
1/2 cup - rice flour
1 cup-- milk
1 tsp- garlic powder
1 tsp- salt
cracked black pepper

Method:
Add all of the ingredients to a mixing bowl and stir with a fork until the flours are dissolved, forming a batter.

Recipe:
for the dry mix:
2 cup- all purpose flout
1/2 cup- rice flour
1 tsp- garlic powder
1 tsp- onion powder
1 tsp- dreid parsley
1 tsp- smoked paprika
1/2 tsp-salt
cracked black pepper

Method:
Mix all of the ingredients together with a whisk and stir until completely combined.

Recipe:
for the mushrooms:

1 lb-oyster mushrooms

Method:
Clean the mushrooms by using a paper towel and wipe the mushrooms clean.
Dredge the mushrooms in the dry flour.
Place the mushrooms in the wet flour mix and drop back into the dry flour mix, coat completely and set on a baking sheet.
Continue to coat all of the mushrooms in the wet and dry flour until all of the mushrooms are completely coated.
Let the mushrooms stand for about 20 minutes, they should get a shaggy coating on them.
Fry in 350F oil until golden brown. Make sure you have fresh oil and the temperature is accurate, this will give a nice brown cook on the mushrooms.
Remove from the oil and set on a cookie sheet with a drying rack.
Plate the mushrooms and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
