東京は神田・神保町にある、1921年創業の老舗【奥野かるた店】さんの店内を、撮影させて頂きました。

店内は、花札、かるた、百人一首など、昔ながらの遊びや、貴重な札の宝庫！！眺めていると、こうした”あそび”が、どれほど、私たちの言語能力や、コミュニケーション能力を鍛えてくれていたか、どれほど、楽しく豊かな時間を与えてくれていたかを、再認識できます。美しい札は、美意識も磨かれますね。

そして、海外の方々がお買物にいらしているのを見て、こういった”あそび”や雑貨は、日本土産としても喜んで頂けるのか！！と、目から鱗でした。次にお伺いしたら、花札メイトさんや同僚へのお土産も購入したいです。頂いた双六で遊ぶのも、楽しみです！！絵になる！！

奥野かるた店の皆様、お連れ下さった草場純さん、インタビューにお付き合い下さったTimさんとお連れ様、お気遣い下さったお買い物中のお客様、貴重な機会を与えて下さり、有難う御座いました！！

We had the pleasure of filming inside Okuno Karuta-ten, a long-established karuta shop founded in 1921, located in Jimbocho, Kanda, Tokyo.

The shop is a treasure trove of traditional games like hanafuda, karuta, and Hyakunin Isshu! As we looked around, we were reminded of how these “games” have enriched our language and communication skills, as well as the joy and memorable experiences they provide. The beautiful cards also refine our aesthetic sensibility!

It was eye-opening to see international visitors shopping there; we realized that these traditional games and crafts make wonderful souvenirs from Japan! Next time we visit, we would love to buy gifts for our fellow hanafuda enthusiasts and colleagues. We’re also excited to play with the sugoroku we received—it’s going to be so much fun!

【花札のご紹介🎴Introduction to Hanafuda 】
花札は、各月を象徴する花や動物が描かれた、48枚（4枚×12ヶ月）のカードで構成されています。かるたの一種で、「花かるた」とも呼ばれています。
Hanafuda consists of 48 cards, each depicting flowers and animals that symbolize the months of the year, with 4 cards representing each of the 12 months. It is a type of karuta, also known as 'Hana Karuta.'
